At 7.40PM last evening, Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) crews responded to a house on fire in Derrimut following several calls to Triple Zero (000).
Crews arrived on scene within 6 minutes to find the house fully engulfed in fire, so the response was escalated.
FRV crews donned breathing apparatus and began an external attack on the fire, eventually gaining access to completely extinguish the fire.
The fire was contained to the unit without any fire spread to neighbouring properties.
All occupants were safely evacuated from the house. The family was re-housed overnight.
The cause of the fire is not yet known and will be investigated by FRV specialists.
Firefighters remained on scene for some time, to ensure the fire is fully extinguished.
FRV deemed the incident Under Control at 8.11PM.
