Fire at vacant home in Springvale

Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) firefighters, assisted by CFA firefighters, responded to a house fire in Virginia Street, Springvale, following multiple calls to Triple Zero (000).

Crews were called to the incident just before 8.30am and arrived within five minutes to find a single-story weatherboard house fully alight.

A thorough search of the premises revealed there were no occupants.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus conducted an internal attack on the flames.

Crews had the blaze under control within twenty minutes of arriving and will remain on scene for several hours to ensure the fire is fully extinguished.

The cause of the fire is unknown and will be investigated.

Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria also attended.
