Triple 000 call takers received several calls about a restaurant on fire on the Melton Highway in Taylors Lakes at 2.44AM
The first FRV crew arrived on scene quickly and escalated the response, as fire engulfed the restaurant sending smoke across the suburb.
FRV crews donned breathing apparatus and attacked the fire and managed to contain it to a small section of the restaurant.
The fire was deemed under control by 3.13AM as crews checked for fire extension into the roof space.
The restaurant was closed however FRV conducted a search to confirm no-one was impacted by the fire.
It is not yet known what started the fire, FRV's specialist investigators are investigating the cause in conjunction with Victoria Police.
Power and gas companies were on scene assisting FRV with service isolations.
Ambulance Victoria was also on scene.
