FRV firefighters extinguish blaze at Coburg

Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) crews responded to a house fire at Bell Street in Coburg in the early hours of this morning, following multiple calls to Triple Zero (000). 

Crews arrived on scene within five minutes to find the rear of a 7m x 10m single storey weatherboard dwelling, issuing flames and smoke.

Wearing beathing apparatus, firefighters worked to extinguish the fire, bringing the incident under control within 30 minutes, containing the fire to the rear of the premises and protecting adjacent properties.

A man, the only occupant of the home, evacuated safely prior to brigade arrival.

There were no injuries reported.

Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria were on scene to support firefighting activities.
