FRV firefighters extinguish fire at Melbourne CBD construction site

At 8.38pm on Monday, Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) responded to a structure fire in Little Collins Street after callers to triple Zero (000) reported a building fire.

FRV arrived on the scene in four minutes and found a fire on the top floor of a multi-story building under construction.

Victoria Police were requested to attend to deal with heavy traffic.

Firefighters gained access to the building via the construction lift and located a fire under the crane on the 27th floor at the top of the building.

Firefighters accessed the hydrants at the site and ran hose lines from the 24th floor to attack the fire.

FRV deemed the fire under control at 9.15pm.
