House fire brought under control at Campbellfield

At 10.32am on 30 April, Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) was called to a house fire at Sydney Road at Campbellfield.

Firefighters arrived on the scene at 10.37am to find a single storey brick building well alight and the response was escalated.

Firefighters donned breathing apparatus to enter the building to attack the fire and protect the surrounding buildings.

A safety procedure was put in place due to asbestos being found on the premises.

A search found no-one in the building.

The power and gas companies were also assisting on the scene.

The scene was deemed under control at 10.57am.

The cause of the fire was investigated and the scene was handed over to Victoria Police.
