At 8.54AM, Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) was called to an incident at Greta Court, Broadmeadows, after multiple callers to Triple Zero (000) advised that smoke and flames were issuing from the top floor of a 2-storey house.
Additional firefighting appliances were despatched in response to this information.
FRV Firefighters arrived on scene to find the top floor fully engulfed in fire.
Firefighters entered to conduct a search to confirm that no-one was home at the time of the fire.
The fire was brought under control in 30 minutes.
The house has been extensively damaged with partial structural collapse.
A Building Surveyor will be attending to check the integrity of the structure.
FRV Specialist Fire Investigators will be attending to determine the cause of the fire.
FRV Firefighters will be remaining on duty throughout the day to continue extinguishment and maintain fire duties.
