Bungalow fire in Heidelberg West

Approximately 25 firefighters were called to Heidelberg West overnight, following reports of a fire on Bardia Street at around 10:20pm.

FRV crews arrived on scene within four minutes to find a single storey bungalow involved in the fire.

Firefighters surrounded the bungalow and attacked the blaze for 30 minutes to bring the fire under control.

Fortunately, all occupants had self-evacuated prior to FRV’s arrival.

At the height of the incident there were five FRV appliances and a command unit at the scene, supported by Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria.

The fire is believed to be suspicious and will be investigated by Victoria Police.
