Crews battle Sunshine factory fire

4.30am Saturday 14 December: Crews brought the fire under control at 10.37pm. Firefighters remain on scene extinguishing remaining hot spots.

10pm Friday 13 December: More than 50 firefighters are responding to a fire at a mechanical repair shop in Sunshine.

A caller to Triple Zero (000) reported the fire at 8.06pm.

Crews arrived at the Market Road scene within six minutes, finding the 20m by 30m building fully involved in fire.

Four people had evacuated before firefighters arrived. One person was treated by Ambulance Victoria paramedics for burns and transported to hospital.

Firefighters immediately escalated the response, sending additional appliances, including specialist aerial appliances.

The incident is not yet under control.

An advice message was issued for Braybrook, Brooklyn, Sunshine, Tottenham. Smoke will be visible from nearby roads and communities.

There is currently no threat to the community, but residents should continue to stay informed and monitor conditions.
