Crews bring Brunswick unit fire under control

Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) responded to unit fire in Donald Street, Brunswick this morning following multiple calls to Triple Zero (000).

Firefighters arrived on scene within five minutes to find a single unit issuing flames and smoke on the upper floor of a two-storey block.

Wearing breathing apparatus (BA), firefighters conducted an external attack to extinguish the fire and contained it to the unit of origin.

Ten occupants of the apartment block were evacuated and accounted for while the houses on either side were also evacuated. No injuries were reported.

Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria were on scene to support firefighting activities.

Community advice was issued for smoke in the area.

This incident was deemed Under Control at 6.01AM.

Firefighters remain on scene to extinguish hot spots.
