Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV responded to a house fire in Tarneit at 6.48pm this evening on Jeremy Street, Tarneit after multiple calls to Triple Zero (000) reported seeing flames.
Firefighters arrived on scene within six minutes, but the fire had already spread across the rear rooms of the 12m x 20m single storey brick veneer home.
Three occupants were home at the time and evacuated safely without suffering injuries.
Firefighters had contained the fire by 7.25pm with 50 percent of the structure damaged in the blaze, and the remaining structure experiencing smoke damage.
Crews will remain on scene overnight and fire investigators have been requested to attend at first light Friday morning to determine a cause.
Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria assisted FRV operations on scene.
