Firefighters tackle gas leak in Southbank

At 1.57PM, Fire Rescue Victoria was called to an incident on Grant Street, Southbank.

Firefighters arrived to find a gas leak caused by a ruptured pipe.

Two trucks attended, with crews using hose lines to dissipate the gas.

40 people were evacuated from a nearby university site as a precaution.
