FRV brings Parkdale fire under control

The incident is not being treated as suspicious.

The Fire Investigation Unit (FIU) has been requested to attend to help determine the cause.

Update at 3.15pm

A total of nine primary appliances, including two aerial appliances, responded to the incident.

Additionally, three support appliances were on scene.

Approximately 50 firefighters helped tackle the blaze.

Ambulance Victoria treated two occupants at the scene for suspected smoke inhalation.

Victoria Police are also on scene.

Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) responded to a structure fire at 1.40pm on Lower Dandenong Road, Parkdale after callers to Triple Zero (000) reported a house fire.

Firefighters arrived on scene within three minutes to find two brick units, 20m by 20m each, fully involved with exposure to multiple units at the rear of the property.

All persons were accounted for.

FRV crews, with assistance from CFA, wore breathing apparatus to tackle the blaze.

The fire was deemed Under Control at 2.28pm.

Firefighters are expected to remain at the scene for several hours to fully extinguish the blaze and make the scene safe.
