Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) crews responded to a structure fire at 12.54am in Broadmeadows following several calls to Triple Zero (000).
Crews arrived on scene within 4 minutes to find smoke and flames issuing from the roof space of a single-storey brick residence, so the response was escalated.
FRV crews donned breathing apparatus, made entry and began an internal attack on the fire as well as protecting the adjoining properties.
The occupant evacuated safely however they were assessed by Ambulance Victoria.
The fire was deemed Under Control by 01.17am.
The cause of the fire is not yet known but it will be investigated by FRV specialists.
Firefighters remained on scene for some time, to ensure the fire was fully extinguished.
Victoria Police also assisted on scene.
