Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) crews responded at 11.21pm to Nicholson Street, Coburg after several calls of a house fire.
Crews arrived on scene within 4 minutes to find smoke and flames issuing from the side of the house with fire quickly spreading to the roof of the weatherboard house and the response was escalated.
FRV crews wore breathing apparatus and began an internal attack on the fire as well as preventing any fire spread to adjoining properties, which were under threat.
All occupants had evacuated safely, but they were assessed by Ambulance Victoria.
The fire was deemed Under Control at 11.49pm.
The cause of the fire is not yet known but it will be investigated by FRV specialists.
Firefighters remained on scene for some time, to ensure the fire was fully extinguished.
