FRV tackles Reservoir shop fire

Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) crews responded to several calls of smoke coming from a shop in Edwardes Street at Reservoir at 11.45pm on Saturday 8 March.

Crews arrived on scene within five minutes to find smoke issuing from a fruit shop and the response was escalated.

FRV crews donned breathing apparatus and began attacking the fire from the front and also attacked from the street behind.

All occupants were evacuated safely and were assessed by Ambulance Victoria.

The fire was deemed under control by 12.18am.

The cause of the fire is not yet known and will be investigated by FRV specialists.

Firefighters will remain on scene for some time, to ensure the fire is fully extinguished.
