FRV firefighters, including members of the High Angle Rescue team, are currently on scene in Chapel St, South Yarra, where a large piece of glass has fallen onto the street.
Crews were called to the address just before 4.30pm and arrived to find a large pane of glass had come loose, shattering across the footpath and road.
Firefighters quickly established the source of the glass as a window on the 18th floor of a building and discovered that there remained a large panel of glass loose and flapping in the wind
Chapel Street is currently closed to traffic (including trams) and pedestrians both north and south bound while crews work to remove the loose glass and make the scene safe.
Police are also in attendance.
