Investigation Unit to probe cause of Brunswick house fire

Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) responded to a house fire at 11.46am on Holloway Road, Brunswick after multiple calls to Triple Zero (000).

Firefighters arrived on scene within 7 minutes to find a single storey, weatherboard dwelling, well alight, issuing flames and smoke.

Crews wore breathing apparatus (BA) and worked to extinguish the fire, bringing it Under Control in 45 minutes.

In total, 12 appliances and 24 firefighters responded.

The blaze was contained to the affected dwelling.

Two occupants who evacuated before firefighters arrived were assessed by Ambulance Victoria for smoke inhalation but no injuries were reported.

FRV's specialist Fire Investigation Unit will attend the scene and seek to determine the cause.

Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria were on scene to support FRV.

A community advice warning was issued for smoke in the area.
