Large fire at Kealba brought under control in less than 40 minutes

At 7.40pm on Thursday 14 November, Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) responded to a large fire in Kealba after callers to Triple Zero (000) reported a column of smoke emanating from the Sunshine Road area.

Firefighters arrived on scene within six minutes to find a fire covering 100m x 50m involving multiple portable buildings and grass land.

Additional resources were called for due to the large area involved in fire.

Crews attacked the fire on multiple fronts and were able to bring it under control at 8.23pm, 37 minutes after arriving on scene.

A Community Advice was issued for a large amount of smoke in the area.

Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria assisted FRV on scene.
