Kitchen fire in Reservoir

FRV crews extinguished a kitchen fire in Reservoir in the early hours of this morning.

Firefighters were called to the Epstein Street address shortly after midnight and arrived within five minutes to find the kitchen of the home ablaze with flames extending into the roof space.

Six people self evacuated the property prior to crews’ arrival.

Firefighters wearing Breathing Apparatus worked quickly to contain the blaze to the kitchen area and stop it from spreading further into the roof.

The fire was deemed under control within about 20 minutes.

The cause of the blaze will be investigated.
