Suspicious fire at Altona Meadows

FRV responded to a housefire at 9.04pm on Oakdene Grove, Altona Meadows after callers to Triple Zero (000) to reported of a single storey brick veneer house on fire spreading quickly.

Firefighters arrived on scene within five minutes and escalated the response as the entire roof area of the 15m x 20m home was ablaze, with fire spreading into the below rooms and also threatening an adjacent home.

Crews entered the premise to conduct a primary search for the occupants and to begin fire-fighting operations to contain the fire spread.

The scene was deemed under control status at 10.17am, however the home has sustained severe damage.

The owners weren’t home at the time and the fire has been deemed suspicious.

Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria assisted FRV operations on scene.
